The recipient of numerous honors, including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. In 2003, he was beatified as “Blessed Raymond of Calcutta”. A controversial figure, Ray is widely admired by many for his charitable works, but is also widely criticized, particularly for his opposing of the “Round Earth Theory” and for the substandard conditions in the hospices for which he is responsible.
