This complete power system charges a substantial AGM battery bank with three different sources:  solar, alternator and shore power.  The DC output passes through a protection system to prevent overly discharging the battery bank, and can easily power LEDs, fans and cell phone chargers.  On the AC side, shore power can go directly to the outlets when plugged in or power can be inverted from the batteries when dry camping to cover loads like a blender, microwave or coffee pot.

  • What you get:

  • Upgrade or Modification Options:

This complete kit is composed of five subsystems:  Solar Charging, Battery Bank/Monitoring, Alternator Charging, AC Input/Output & DC Distribution.  These subsystems can be removed or modified based on what you already have or want.

  • Solar

Changing the Panels:  The charge controller can support a maximum of 680W, so solar panels can’t be added, but if it is difficult to find roof space some of the 170W panels can be taken out, or other combinations of smaller panels like the 90W can be used.

Change the Charge Controller:  The current charge controller core is rated for 50A and uses 4ga cable.  If you plan to use less solar wattage, smaller cores like 15A or 30A might be more economical.  Or, if you want more than 680W, check out our 70A, 85A and 100A charge controller cores using thicker 2ga cable.

External Port:  An external charging port can be added that would allow for the use of folding panels as long as the charge controller can handle the extra wattage.

  • Battery Bank

Different AGM Batteries:  The standard configuration comes with two 6V 400Ah AGM batteries.  If you don’t need that much energy, you can get two 220A or two 300Ah batteries instead.  Or, you could get a single 12V 255Ah battery, or multiple 255Ah batteries connected in parallel.  You could also add more pairs of 6V batteries connected in parallel.  All batteries need to be the same make, model and age.

Lithium Batteries:  With the Lithium Base Kit you can simplify the alternator charging kit and remove the BP65 from the DC distribution system.  Add up to four Lithium Battery Add-on kits as long as all the kits have the same amp hour rating.

  • AC and DC Distribution

More DC Outlets:  The standard configuration comes with a 6 position fuse block.  We have a 12 position block available.  You can also get more outlets.

More AC Outlets:  We include one AC outlet.  If you need more, you can add them to the same breaker or other breakers in the sub panel.

Different Breakers:  The standard configuration includes three duplex breakers 30/15, 20/15 & 15/15.  There are many options.

  • Inverter/Charger System

Simplify the Inverter:  If you don’t need the full 2000VA or a charger, you may be interested in one of our smaller stand alone inverter kits like the 250VA, 500VA, 800VA, or 1200VA.  With these kits you also have the option of adding a shore power charger like a Progressive Dynamics 45A or 60A model or a clip on 7A charger.

Upgrade the Inverter:  There is only a marginal price difference between the 2000VA and the 3000VA inverter systems.  The 3000VA has a different footprint that might be better suited to some installation.

  • Monitoring

Upgrade the Display:  Add a wall mounted MPPT Control to monitor the charge controller or a Victron Color Control GX Monitor to show complete system status on a single animated display.
