This 5th wheel got a 640W solar charging system with a 40A MPPT system core, a 2000W pure sine inverter and a 220Ah AGM Battery Bank. With a system like this they will be able run appliances like blenders and microwaves without a generator or shore power connection.
The curved roof lead us to use a variety of lengths of L-feet to keep the panels level. The four 160W panels max out the 40A charge controller and provide plenty of current to the 300Ah battery bank inside the reinforced bay. The addition of a Trik-L-Start allows the starter battery to be safely charged by the house battery bank.
This customer came to us with a price ceiling and asked that we give them the most power possible for their budget goal. Upon inspecting the trailer, we found that their batteries were completely dead. We replaced them with a pair of low cost Interstate Flooded batteries and added two 100W panels to the roof with a 25A SunRunner Signature MPPT core. The system can easily be expanded with the addition of two more 100W panels when the customer is ready.
