VHB tape is used to hold down mount sets and combiner boxes. Sealant is used to protect the tape from the elements so it doesn’t degrade and lose adhesion over time. Dicor is self-leveling but not used as an adhesive. SikaFlex is harder to work with, but has additional bonding capabilities. One tube of sealant is sufficient for two panels and one combiner box. Installations larger than seven panels should use three tubes.
Dicor protects the VHB tape from the elements. Use it to seal around mount feet, cable management hardware and combiner boxes attached to roofs.
Ideal for Airstream roofs, Sikaflex protects the VHB tape from the elements. Use it to seal around mount feet, cable management hardware and combiner boxes attached to roofs. Do not use Sikaflex on TPO roofs.
